The Coho Joins Forces With Clean The World

Process.png

At the Coho Oceanfront Lodge, www.thecoholodge.com, we are committed to do our part and make a small difference in making this a better, greener planet.  That is why when we had the opportunity to join Clean The World, we jumped at the chance.

The ideas is simple enough, collect soap and other amenities used by the hospitality industry and recycles them into usable products that get sent to third world countries; though the execution can get a little tricky.

As you could imagine, used soaps and amenities are a breeding ground for such diseases as Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aerogenes, Salmonella typhymurium, and Staphylococcus aureus.  However, Clean The World is committed to maintaining an environmentally and hygienically safe recycling process. As the world’s first, high volume soap recycler, Clean the World ensures that all bars of soap recycled and distributed domestically and abroad are completely safe and will not harm the end user due to disease or pathogens that can be transmitted if proper re-purposing does not exist.

Clean the World; a 501 not for profit organization is supported by the generous contributions of individuals and organizations worldwide, through Hospitality Recycling Program fees, in-kind donations, and fundraising events.  To date, Clean The World has delivered more than 9.5 million pounds of soap, and over 200,000 pounds of shampoo and conditioner.
