Second Summer in Lincoln City, OR

Oregon

The Northwest has recently been hit with a bout of drastic weather- from wind and rain- to abnormal amounts of snowfall. This wintry pattern throughout the week presents a potentially historic storm that will move across the region. Last weekend, here at the Coho, we even got snow! Snowfall directly onto the beach is a beautiful and rare sight.

But don’t get too comfy, here's a secret.

Don't let the stereotype of nasty coastal weather in winters keep you from planning a quiet ocean get-away in the near future. Statistics from years' past have proved that though the Valley assumes it's gloomy on the coast- there might be a clear and glorious day awaiting you on the beach. The trends from most years have the same pattern: about a week or slightly more of absolutely dry days - or almost dry days - in December and January, with temperatures around the 50's. By February, you'll find almost two straight weeks of no rain and somewhat spring-like temperatures (AKA “Second Summer”).

The locals know that some of the best days in Lincoln City are in the winter; so surf on over to our site to plan your next winter escape. Make sure you check road conditions before you head out, and we'll see you soon.
